Calligram Project
Dear Future Dylan,
At the point you’re reading this letter, you’re well into your thirties and far out of your college years, which is where I am in life as I’m writing this letter. I am writing this assuming that you graduated from The University of Tampa. Did that change at all? Did you stick through all 4 years or did you maybe end up going somewhere else or back home? If you graduated from UT, did you end up living in Florida after college? Did you move to a different city, state, country, or maybe go back home? Are you still in close contact or contact at all with your high school friends like Blythe, Mel, or Callie? As your well aware you switched your major from biology/pre-dental to marketing over the summer leading into sophomore year. I still think it was one of the best decisions made thus far. Currently, my goal in life is to be working with luxury brands doing their marketing or maybe even at a firm with a set clientele. Did you end up getting a job within that industry? If so, for what brands/firm? At the time you’re writing this, you’re kind of going through a rough patch at school. A life lesson that you definitely need to learn is putting yourself first and making sure your mental health is great. Throughout your life, you always tended to want to please people and make everyone happy, but it always ends up coming back and biting you in the ass somehow. Trying to please everyone is going to end up pleasing no one. This year I am joining the marketing club and possibly the advertising club & entrepreneurship club. We’ll see where that takes me. This year you’re feeling extra homesick and are kind of struggling with being away from home and your family. No matter what you go through in life, family will always be there for you to cry to, laugh with, and talk with about anything. Always make sure you are surrounded by them. Side question, now that you are 38 and whatever, do you have like a family lol? Like literally do you have a husband, kids, dogs? Like what… that makes me feel weird. And of course how is miss Lennox? At the time i’m writing this she’s 3 years old, but by the time you’re reading this she is going to be 23. That blows my mind! She probably has a job and is thriving in her young 20s! I hope she’s doing really well and that you’re super close with her, Jesse, and Luke. Onto the pups, by the time you read this Charli and Hendrix are definitely in doggy heaven. How did the rest of their lives go? Did they ever calm down with the barking haha? Or stealing each others food? I hope they both went to rest peacefully and that they’re in better places when you read this. Did the family get any new dog additions? Right now theres Charli, Hendrix, Bruno and Donnie. Any more that anyone got since the writing of this letter? I can’t wait to meet them! Lastly, make sure your always takin care of mom and being by her side. She's always going to be the realest one in your life. Well, it’s time to close off this letter. I hope that life for you in between me writing this letter to when you read it has been everything you’ve wanted/dreamed for. Don’t forget to make so many memories and cherish all the happiness you experience. Just always do things in your life for yourself and your future!
Love, 18 year old Dylan :)
