Calligram Project

Image
For my calligram project, I stumbled upon the idea to create an old fashioned, mystical set up and turn it it into a calligram. While I was playing around with Adobe Illustrator in class, I made the shape that represents the piece of paper in this picture, and I ran with it. As soon as I saw the shape I made, it reminded me of an old-times, crumply piece of paper with the corner burnt off. A piece of inspiration would be the music interlude video for the song "Reckless" by Madison Beer on her tour. It has a classy, older feel to it, and is the process of her writing a love letter to herself. Thus, the reasoning for the piece of paper. I added rose petals falling down to give it a "straight from the movies" romance vibe. One thing that came as a struggle to me throughout this project was the process of making the dresser. I needed to learn and understand how to manipulate the tools on Illustrator in order to make the effect of the dresser with its knobs as well

It was extremely useful for each creator to display them using each tool, and showing how they work to get their piece to their liking. After viewing each tutorial, I felt confident in my ability to create my design using the tools in Adobe Illustrator. My favorite tool to use throughout the completion of my project was the pen tool. Using the pen tool became pretty self-explanatory after watching the tutorials and playing around the the tool in the games.

Canvas Project

For my canvas project, I went with the design concept of life under the sea. I designed the original idea sketch on my iPad with my apple pencil, and then I brought it to life by using codes on Adobe Dreamweaver. What I really enjoyed about my concept was the curves on the image that created waves in the water. To be blunt, I struggled a lot throughout the course of creating my project. My biggest struggle was manipulating the Bezier and Quadratic curves. My favorite part of creating the image was playing around with the different colors and allowing the colors to complement each other in the image. I feel that there are some aspects about my project that I could have enhanced like the seaweed and coral at the bottom of the ocean, but again I was struggling to create that perfect curve to give off the seaweed look. I completed this project over the course of 3-4 days at about 2-3 hours each day. I feel that it was beneficial that I did it in small increments over the course of a few
